Abrasive blasting

Durable corrosion protection starts with proper surface preparation. We remove rust, mill scale and old layers and give the surface the right profile for the next step.

Why blasting?

Coatings only adhere well to a clean, lightly profiled surface. Blasting removes rust, mill scale, old paint layers and contamination, creating a surface to which a coating system can bond optimally.

The blasting abrasive is selected according to the material, surface condition and required result. We advise you in advance so the treatment matches the next step: thermal metal spraying, protective coating or direct use.

Abrasives

Three abrasives, one right choice

For every job we select the abrasive that suits the material and the desired result.

Steel grit

For steel structures and heavier work

Steel grit thoroughly removes rust, mill scale and old coatings and gives the steel a surface profile suitable for thermal metal spraying and protective coating.

Corundum

For hard substrates and targeted work

Corundum is a hard, sharp abrasive for applications that require more aggressive cleaning or a specific profile.

Glass bead

For a fine, smooth finish

Glass bead cleans and peens the surface without attacking it aggressively. Suitable for stainless steel and aluminium, among others, and for an even, satin finish.

How we work

Our approach

A fixed process with clear checkpoints, from delivery to next step.

  1. Intake and advice

    We discuss the workpiece, the condition of the surface and the required result, and advise on the blasting abrasive and follow-up treatment.

  2. Delivery and preparation

    You deliver the materials by appointment. Where necessary, parts are masked or delivered disassembled.

  3. Blasting

    The surface is blasted to the agreed cleanliness and roughness.

  4. Inspection

    We check the result visually and against the specification agreed with you in advance.

  5. Next step

    The blasted work moves straight on to thermal metal spraying or protective coating, or is delivered back to you clean and protected.

Quality

Measurable results

Blasting is only finished when the surface meets the agreed specification. Cleanliness and roughness are assessed according to the agreements we record with you in advance.

If the work then moves on to thermal metal spraying or protective coating, we manage the transition between steps: a blasted surface receives its first protective layer in good time.

Questions about blasting

Which materials can you blast?

Possible substrates include cast iron, steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, wood and other suitable materials. The method and abrasive are determined for each component.

How do I deliver my materials?

You can deliver your materials by appointment at our site at Binnenhavenstraat 55 in Hengelo, the Netherlands. Please contact us in advance so we can align planning and delivery with you.

What is the lead time?

The lead time depends on the size of the job and our current planning. Contact us for an indication for your project.

Can you apply the coating directly after blasting?

Yes. Abrasive blasting, thermal metal spraying and protective coating all take place under one roof. Blasted work can move straight on to the next step, without additional transport.

What do you need for a quotation?

A short description of the work, dimensions and quantities, and photos or drawings where possible. Please also mention the desired finish, so we can send you a fitting quotation.
